Depression, suicide, hospitals, medications, alcohol, sugar, salt, etc. There’s such an abundance of these things all around us. Why do we do things that make us sick and bring us to an early grave? Why don’t we do more of the things that rejuvenate us and give us a vibrant life?
God's creations give us health and life. We spent way too much of our time and life with things that are dead, like television, computers, cars, dead man-made food in boxes, we drink poisons, we smoke poisons, we breathe dead air, etc.
Nature is all around us. It beckons us. Butwe are too busy and before we know it, our life is over. But today is the first day of the rest of our lives. What will you do?
I went for a good walk and came home rejuvenated. I wrote the poem that follows. But then my brain started thinking. Yes, it can do that! That poem is more than a poem. It is a reflection of what life is all about. I have to make some changes. I’m wasting way too much time in things that make me sick and kill me, and not enough time in the things that rejuvenate me.
Having drunk enough water
I went for a walk
Feeling the rays of the sun penetrate
I saw a grassy field
Took off my shoes and socks
And paced the life-giving carpet
Soaking the earth’s vibrations
I walked and walked and walked
Felt more like I was flying
Unloaded my mind of pollutions
Trapped inside my brain
The water in the river seemed so serene
Free to journey the set path
The stones bathed in its purification
My soul it gently massaged
Why do we neglect the Creator’s wonders
With man-made contraptions
That blinds the eye and kills the spirit
And take us to an early grave
No more, no more, I’ve had enough
Today I tasted rejuvenation
Enough of man’s suffocations
I will henceforth embrace the earth
