Is Jesus Christ the Son of God or God the Son? Does it make a difference? What do reliable witnesses say? There are many philosophies about the true identity of Jesus Christ but what does the Bible actually say as to who Jesus is? Does "Son of God" or "God the Son" mean the same thing? If that was the case then both expressions would appear in the Scriptures as they would be interchangeable. Both expressions do not mean the same thing and are not interchangeable. There is a universe of a difference between them. Watch! 1hopefulman is the son of doctoror 1hopefulman is the doctor the son. If you were sick, would it make a difference? 1hopefulman is the son of mechanic or 1hopefulman is the mechanic the son? Again, if you had engine trouble would it make a difference whom you went to see? The conclusion is that God had a son, Jesus Christ and not that God became his own son or that God is the Son. Does the expression “God the Son” ever appear in the Bible? No,
not once! Does the expression the “Son of God” appear in the Bible? Yes, many times! What have reliable witnesses from the Bible declared and understood about this confusion that exists as to the true identity of Jesus Christ? Let’s see! God himself (what did He call his Son): Matthew 3:17; Mark 9:7; Luke 9:35; 2 Peter 1:17 Jesus himself (who did he say he was?): John 3:18; 5:25; 11:4; Revelation 2:18 Gabriel (angel): Luke 1:35 Jesus’ disciples: Matthew 14:33 John the Baptist: John 1:34 The apostle Peter Matthew 16:16 Nathanael (apostle): John 1:49 Martha (Lazarus’ sister): John 11:27 The apostle John: John 20:31; 1 John 3:8, 4:15 The apostle Paul (Saul): Acts 9:20; 2 Corinthians 2:18; Galatians 2:20 The Devil: Matthew 4:3,6; Luke 4:3,9 The demons: Matthew 8:29; Mark 3:11; Luke 4:41 Jesus’ enemies: Matthew 26:63; 27:40; Luke 22:70 So, while there is much confusion, it would be wise to examine the Scriptures carefully to know the truth on who really is Jesus Christ and make your own decision based on a personal, careful examination of the facts presented in Scripture. So, is Jesus Christ the Son of God or God the Son? Please trust the Bible, the reliable, living word of God!
