“India, which has more than 1.3 billion people, recorded 24,000 cases of rape last year, a figure that has increased by 25 percent in the past six years.” (New York Times) Shocking! Unbelievable! Horrendous! These are the recorded rapes, so who knows what the real count is? What is going on? How can someone rape another person? Why does someone rape another person?
24,000 rapes, that is just in India, for one year! Why, why, why? Why does someone rape another person?
The blame for the major part has to be put on society in general for tolerating, promoting and encouragingsuch deplorable acts. How is this done?
It is done by the fact that we don’t educate our children to show proper respect for the life and body of another person. So, the parents and the educational systems are partly to blame.
The law and the justice system are also partly to blame. Too much is tolerated and encouraged. When justice and punishment is not meted out promptly and severely, people think they can get away with anything.
It is encouraged and tolerated when the entertainment field features and glorifies such acts.
Yes, the individual who rapes is to blame. However, how innocent is the society that promotes and tolerates loose morals and little respect for another person’s body, life, and spirit?
Rape has to be one of the most despicable acts against the person and dignity of another person.
Are rampant acts such as rape, evidence of a decadent world that is getting worse by the minute?
God destroyed a wicked world in the days of Noah. God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for its sick sexual acts and indulgences. Are we about to see a repeat performance?
