If God exists or if there is a God, then: Why is there suffering? Why do people suffer? Why is there evil in the world? Why do bad things happen? Why is there evil? Why is there wickedness? Why is there bad?
The question is simple and has been asked by many throughout history. It is a good question. It is a logical question.
Why is there suffering, evil, or wickedness?
The simple answer is that God allows it. He does not cause it, but he does allow it, since He is powerful enough to stop it.
Why does a loving God allow suffering, evil, or wickedness?
God has been challenged by one of his sons, now called Satan the Devil.
What was the challenge?
The challenge was a multi-faceted one. The challenge was: that God is not a good ruler, that we can do better without interference from God, that we don’t need God, that Satan could turn us all away from God because we are all selfish and don’t care for God whatsoever, that we care more about ourselves than we care about God, that if we were to suffer we would all curse God.
God could have destroyed Satan. However would that have solved the issue? Let’s illustrate: if you have a horse and I have a horse and you say that your horse is faster than mine. What would be the best way to answer that challenge? Would not the best way be to have a race and see which horse is faster? If when you raised the challenge I took a gun and shot you, what would that show? Would it not show that I was afraid that your horse might be faster and I was afraid to hold the race?
God is not afraid of the challenge. He knows how best to rule us since He created us. He knows how to rule the human race and take care of all their needs.
So God has allowed two rulerships to exist simultaneously, God’s and Satan’s, so that people could see the difference and choose who they want as
It is not God that is causing the wars, the crimes, the raping and the child abuse and so on. God has given us laws that are for our own good and those that follow God’s ways are doing good things for their fellow humans, while Satan is influencing the world in selfish, greedy and wicked ways because he thinks that is what we all want.
Yes, some of us, in fact many of us, are selfish and greedy and prefer to do wicked things but not all of us. Some of us would rather suffer evil rather than hurt another human.
God has set a limit to how long this challenge will last. The time is close to expiring. Soon Satan will be dealt with and taken care of. God will then undo all the harm Satan has done and life will be good. All the innocent people that have been victims of Satan’s evil ways will be brought back to life to relive their life and be given a chance to make the right choice. Then, there will be no more evil, suffering or injustice.
Take time to think about this matter seriously. Let us blame the real culprit of the suffering, evil and wickedness.
I have put the answer to the question: If God exists then why is there suffering, evil, or wickedness in the world in a very simple way. If you want a Scriptural explanation, then the next time you are visited by Jehovah’s Witnesses, just ask them the question and they will take all the time you need to help you understand the issues involved as to why there is suffering, evil, or wickedness.
