We sometimes hear people express the sentiment that they have no interest in religion. What reasons might they have to feel that way? And what is the purpose of religion?
There are many varied reasons as to why some are not interested in religion.
Could it be the fact there are so many religions with each claiming to be the right one or the true one and they are confused over this state of affairs?
Could it be that they are shocked by some of the things done in the name of religion or by religious people and they want no part ofthis and therefore they leave the religious realm all-together?
Could it be that they are disappointed by the results of religion to make a better world?
Could it be that they are disgusted with some of the actions, conduct and hypocrisy of religious leaders and so want nothing to do with it?

Just what should be the purpose of religion?
Should not religion teach people about a loving God and such love be reflected in the speech and conduct of the religious leaders and its adherents?
Actions speak louder than words and if a religion has only words and little or no positive actions then it has nothing solid behind it.
If a religion is good, just like a good fruit tree, then it will attract good people to it.
Many of those that want nothing to do with religion, is because they see little that is positive in religion. One day, when a religion comes along that has positive merits they may just change their direction.
