Does Unconditional Love Really Exist Or Is It Just A Myth Or An Excuse To Do Evil?

I have seen the expression ‘unconditional love" used in some discussions. But can and does this love, without any conditions, really exist or is just a myth? Worse, is it an excuse to do evil acts with the belief that God will forgive one no matter what they do?

What is unconditional love?

As far as I can understand, it is a love that has no conditions attached. One loves someone else, no matter what the person does or becomes. Is such love possible or is it a fallacy?

Can love without any moral conditions, without any moral limitations, based on no obligations

whatsoever, really exist? Who is capable of expressing or possessing this kind of love? Can God, parents, friends have this kind of love? Or, is it just deluded people that like to deceive themselves into thinking that unconditional love really exists?

What are the implications of unconditional love?

If we would love people no matter what they do, what does that mean? Would that not mean that we would love rapists, murderers or child abusers? How much sense does that make? Obviously unconditional love does not exist in society or else why do we make laws and have prisons?

Does God have unconditional love?

That can’t be so! Why? It is because of the consequences of wrongdoing. Abuse of alcohol produces hangovers. Inappropriate

sex produces venereal diseases and Aids. Improper hygiene produces illness.

Is it just a way for someone to absolve anything they do, by rationalizing that God will love them no matter what they do? Will those that believe in "unconditional love" be in for a rude awakening?

What is the reality?
Does John 3:16 really show that God's love has no conditions?

John 3:16 (New International Version) 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

Is believing not a condition?

Let us not delude ourselves into thinking that God expresses love unconditionally. There are conditions and there are consequences. Let us not kid ourselves by inventing absurdities like unconditional love!
