Do A Kind Deed; You Never Know How Much Good It Will Accomplish?

Have you ever seen the power of kindness in action? Doing a kind deed will bless others as well as yourself.

Sometimes, you see the results of kindness or doing a kind deed right away and other times it might take a long time to see the results.

Maybe you have heard the proverb that says to cast your bread upon the water and that even after many days you will find it or something to that effect. (Ecclesiastes 11:1)

Why? Probably because the bread will float so it is easy to spot. Maybe a kind deed will stay afloat in the

person’s mind and when you need a favor, they will remember what you did and do something for you.

Today, I visited an old friend in an old folk’s home. While we waiting for her to wake up, we stated talking to a couple of other residents. In speaking with one resident we found out that she had come from Liverpool, England and knew all the Beatles personally and had been to their houses. What a treat that turned out to be as I am a big fan.

Today, I called a sick friend to see if they needed anything. At first they said they were ok. I asked again and then they thought of a few items they needed. So I went shopping for the

items. Wanting to find the best products, I only got one item from one store. I wasn’t satisfied with the quality of the other products and so I went to look at a second store.

As I shopped, I noticed a couple of items that I could use. So I was happy to get the couple of items for myself and I was also satisfied with the quality of the products for my friend at the second store. I just loved to see the smile on my friend’s face as I delivered the items for which they were more than satisfied by my purchase for them.

I did someone a favor but I also got much out of the errand for myself. Doing kind deeds has its own reward but sometimes so much more is accomplished than the original intention.

I think that doing a kind deed is like an investment, the dividends just keep on coming. So do as many kind deeds as you can, you never know how much good will come out of it and how far the kind deed will go for the benefit of others and also for yourself!
