Can Aids Be Prevented Or Cured?

AIDS is deadly! It has already killed over 20 million people so far, that is roughly the population of Australia.

So, it is only natural to ask: can AIDS be prevented or cured?

It is much easier to prevent AIDS than cure it. How does one prevent AIDS?

How does one get AIDS?

The HIV virus that leads to AIDS is transmitted basically through abnormal sexual contact, contaminated blood transfusions and infected intravenous drug needles.

All three can be avoided, therefore AIDS can be prevented. One can argue all they want but it is much easier to avoid or prevent AIDS than cure it.

one need to avoid sex?

No, but one does need to avoid abnormal sexual activity like multiple partners and anal sex.

It seems clear that sex is a serious responsibility, that should be engaged in by mature people in the monogamous marriage arrangement, with only one single partner and in the designed way.

The anus is the body’s way of expelling wastes and it is not a sexual organ. One is only fooling themselves if they want to argue otherwise.

An ancient saying shows the wisdom of prevention, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Think and meditate on how many solutions are in that little old saying.

Two questions for serious thought: Did the Bible writers know something about prevention since the three main causes of AIDS are all condemned? Are there other things that they may have known on the prevention of other health issues? Why not become familiar with its contents by a daily program of Bible reading and study.

If you need help and encouragement: Why not look for a group of people that takes Bible study seriously?

Is self-control the solution?

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (New International Reader's Version) 24 In a race all the runners run. But only one gets the prize. You know that, don't you? So run in a way that will get you the prize. 25 All who take part in the games train hard. They do it to get a crown that will not last. But we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 So I do not run like someone who doesn't run toward the finish line. I do not fight like a boxer who hits nothing but air. 27 No, I train my body and bring it under control. Then after I have preached to others, I myself will not break the rules and fail to win the prize.

Self-control is a key to the prevention of AIDS. How many lives could have been saved if they had just shown some self-control?

Yes, AIDS is much easier to prevent than cure. So why not work on preventing AIDS and you will not have to worry so much on how to cure it?
